For anyone that stills plays generals like me:

Dear C&C Generals players,

We are hard at work on Patch 1.6. We don't have a full update on when it'll be out and exactly what is included but we know the basics at this time. We're testing and looking to get this baby out soon. In the meantime, here's a short update on the balance adjustments...

- Gattling Cannon/Gattling Tank no longer fire through buildings.

- Gattling Tank should now move slower when damaged.

- Make sure full health Superweapons and Command Centers cannot be taken out with the upgraded weapon.

- Fixed bug where upgraded Scud Storm weapon had a smaller damage radius, and did less damage than regular scud storm missiles.

- MiG armor cost increased from 500 to 1000.

- MiG cost increased from 1000 to 1200.

- Looking at the decreasing the cost or increasing the power/armor of the USA Power Plant w/ rod upgrade...more later on this.

PS. One of the biggies in the patch is fixing a bug with setting firewall ports. More details later. FYI...also looking at a mismatch error

OK, I’ve gone through the thread regarding MiG’s and compiled a condensed list of your suggestions going from the most requested to the least requested. This was compiled as of yesterday afternoon so there are more posts that have gone up since this was compiled but here are the results so far.

Increase Cost: 46
Increase Build Time: 30
Reduce Speed: 23
Reduce Hit Points: 19
Reduce Speed when Damaged: 14
Reduce Missile Range: 8
Reduce Firestorm Damage: 8
Increase Price of MiG Armor: 6
Increase Reload Time: 5
Reduce Damage Capability: 3
Remove Firestorm: 3
Make Firestorm an Upgrade: 2
Reduce Likelihood of Firestorm: 2
Reduce Accuracy: 2

A few other interesting comments:

US anti-air isn’t effective against MiG’s due to the fact that MiG’s can outrun Patriot’s. The speed issue.

GLA has a problem with MiG’s due to the fact that firestorms destroy occupants of stinger sites and stinger troops easily. Also, MiG’s can destroy Quad Cannons fairly easily and can be replaced faster than the GLA can replace Quad Cannon’s thus making it hard for the GLA to maintain anti-air against MiG’s.

MiG’s should be inferior to US Raptor’s in air to air combat.

The MiG doesn’t circle around like other aircraft.

Overall, the MiG is just too versatile.

Increase cost and build time were the big favorites. I was discussing this with Harvard this morning and we agree that reducing speed is a big factor as well.

Right now the team is testing the MiG with increased cost and build times. I do believe that they will look at reduced speed as well if Harvard’s comment’s this morning are any indication. We want to be careful as to not “nerf” the MiG, just balance it a little better.

Hey, sl8, remember my strat where all i do is migs?
yeah thats one of my favorite strats, i do 1v1, on the big map twighlight flame, get all 4 supplies on my half earlier, and the oil derricks too, and i CONSTANTLY produce about 4 airfields (then 4 planes each) at a time, i get so many migs its not even funny.

So yeah, i guess i'll have to say goodbye to that strat, or maybe not if they don't nerf it bad.

Well, i'll be doing my all-mig strat more now.

lol squeeg never seen you do that one...although i tried the nothing but troop crawler strat and it worked after i added some gats and tank troopers. You go early troop crawler and get the upgrade for capture building. Its kinda like a engi rush in ra2 and yr.

ok mismatch needs to be the number #1 thing they are trying to fix, if they don't fix mismatch there is no point. i get mismatched in about 30% of the games now it is becomming like wash on yuris, except peopel do it for no reason there isn't even a ladder.

Over the weekend I played at a lan party in exeter and had at least 3 mismatches two were right at the end when the game was all but over it wasn't a tourny just fun games. IMO the game causes alot of mismatches and I don't think they're forced by players.

..dont sell your command center. Most of the mismatches come from this..especially with china.

Alt-F4 is the universall "Close Program" command for Windows.

yeah i know krazy but when done in generals it causes some kind of wash, or maybe just a disconnect i'm not sure still haven't tested

=captain obvious and they are aware of the alt-f4 thing..dont know if they are gonna do anything though. The mismatch is worse because i think you still get a d/c for the alt-f4 just doesnt affect your wins/losses so even though you can be 200-0 people are still gonna see your d/cs

yeps, and thats why u dont play people who have a gr8 rec and loads of d/cs :p
