I need help - Violent Video Games

I have a paper due Tuesday and I need some fluff material. So I decided to turn the the community since it's something we all know about.

Tell me how you feel about violent video games and how they relate to you. (No need to answer if your over 21).

Do you often feel stressed after playing? Relaxed? Do you tend to feel more agressive. Please let me know with a little explaination why. Thanks.

more like a combo...i tend to fell like im letting all my stress out but then i run up and punch my bro in the face and we start to fight...then we play games again and fight some more ect.ect..

Well I guess I'm allways aggressive but after playing violent video games i tend to hit the wall with my fist when I leave my room, so i guess violent games make me more aggressive.

I feel relaxed during first person shooters, but some games can scare the hell outta me and that makes me stressed when playing, just like im actually there neing shot or something kinda makes stressed for being afraid to die during games like alliens vs predator (when alliens and animals involved, with just humans Im very relaxed)

violent video games dont make me any more angry than an unviolent one would (the only time i get angry is when i just cant beat a level or something like that). I think they may decensitize us to real life violence, but i never want to go out and shoot someone or cause any sort of physical injury because of a violent video game.

They also, like any video game, are a way to escape real life so i guess they would, therefore, be a kind of stress reliever.

Such games as Carmageddon and Blood [Ne1 remember those? :D] provide the player with stuff he'd never be able to do in real life. If you come home from a shitty day, often the top games played are Carmageddon and shit, just to take ur anger out on something else. It can be used as a stress reliever, but too much of a violent game can lead to irratic behaviour, even agressive. In the news somedays, you often hear teenagers doing things like cut people up, and go on road rages like they do in violent games. Some people can block out any effects of video games, most people have a good laugh with them, and use them as a stress reliever, but a vast minority use them as a way of copying shit, like running over old stefans, i mean ladies :D. Sometimes, impossible missions to beat can cause you to become agressive in the workplace, even prone to irratic moods.


I personally use the comp as a sorta stress reliever, i mean, theres nothing good then to log onto WOL and destroy tank, and run some old ladies over. Violent games dont affect me a bit, their alot of fun :)

theres no reason to complain. There is no right or wrong answer. Noone is better than anyone else for their reactions. I know greg plays leaning back in his chair with his keyboard in lap and mouse on his nuts.

I tend to sit up with a cig burning and my beer going warm. And I usually do it to relieve stress, however I tend to get mad quickly if I play stupid or lose constitantly.

About 10 years ago I hit my brother when we played mortal kombat against eachother and he pressed three keys at the same time, so the game wouldn't register my key presses anymore. And he did the same to me. So violence might be a problem. Allthough the same happened in car racing games when we played against eachother, but less I think.

but it could have been those intial violent games that made you act out.

I believe I've made my conclusion, and of course it goes against Liberal Media America.

I believe it's because society is so much harder now a days, whether it be school, pressure from parents, or friends, we need greater ways of relieving stress. While most people get a violent flash in their head, it doesn't mean we act on it. Video games are a way to release anger.

However if anyone plays GTA3, I do believe children shouldn't play that. 14 and under. the game was made for pure shock value. I fear now games will be made to see how can they shock you. Don't be suprised if the next game has constant swearing, nudity, and just general caranage.

There's a game made by the racist National Alliance where your a white person trying to exterminate jews and other races. When you kill a black guy you hear monkey sounds. When you kill a jew it says oy vie! Definately something that should be kept away from kids.

i know I shouldn't. I know what it does to my body. But for now I a) like to smoke them because it gets me to walk around on breaks. and b) For me, with my busy schedule, it's a good way to relieve stress.
