i'm running on a gforce 3 agp ti500 64 mb card w/ a 1.7 gig processor / 256 ram, and its fine.

make sure to get the new drivers from ati and drop all the specs in custom options. It will make the game run faster, and it may not lag nearly as bad.

yep drivers are all important to how the video card runs, you can up the fps significantly with updated drivers, everybody should update their video card drivers whenever possible.
