Well, my earliest newb experience was TS when the whole idea for me was to wall my entire base and put an rpg every 3 or 4 tiles along the wall. Then i would cement the entire inside of my base so no NOD sub teranian things could get in. Then i would build as many orca bombers as possible. The funny thing was i wouldnt attack until my entire base was walled in and fully defendable on its own, and completely cemented.

My newb days on ra2...man i was a newbie for like 6 months so i have many stories,

....i was playing a sov on lbl (I 1 mapped this map) and i couldnt beat sovs since i was allied and i would make 20 pills so i had no money for tanks. Well i decided to rockie rush so i spent a fortune on anti scout and just rushed him and won.
He asked for a rematch and i said "no, now u know what i do!"

What I would do is One map this red tiberium Mod map where one load gives u almost infinite cash. So this mod map had cyborg tanks that could level an MCV in like 3 rounds.

So..I would start the game deploy my MCV, make Hand of Nod and stuff then take 2 cyborg tanksto the BR of the map, come up and level him b4 he even knew what hit him.lol! The sad thing is I sucked so many people in I got to rank 50, LMAO! Pathetic newbie I was. Another thing I did was make a sub vehicle and take over a structure with a hand of nod ready to deploy ( On same red tiberium map ) and as soon as I took a structure I slapped it down and started building another one all while Pumping out engis and other infantry.I owned most people but this one guy with a trainer made those tiberium hogs ( forget the name ) and rushed me with like 30.

I basicly started with a small rush, a few dogs, GIs and engineers. Tried to take over their conyard. Sometime it was already over 3 minutes. Actually e-mailed ww when some of games didn't count because it was under 3 minutes. :D

Ahhh... RA2 newbie days...It seemed like only yesterday... * cough*( :D ) well i started out as... France i believe and just turtled my ass off. I never built any tanks. I built from 4-5 miners from war fac, and nothing else. Only ifvs for anti air. I never built any tanks.. And when i first got the game i made designs for bases that would look 'cool'. Like i would put 4 power plants in one spot. Wall the entire perimeter of my base. Id put a patriot missle in each corner.id sell a partial part of the wall for an entrance. Id put pills on outaide and prism on inside. There were four entrances for each side. It was funny stuff. When i started to get a little better i began to play tournament matches! The best rank i had gotten ( at that time :P) was about 900. I was so amazed i bragged a bit too much and buffed myself up lol. One game i remember was ona mod map called petwoody's revenge. Me and this guy called lloyd1376 would play it ALL the time. We made a clan ( my first ever) called BXS or Black X Squad. My name at the time was BlackX5. There are many other stories to tell, like my first organized clan, the first one i ever put together. It was fun times for me. And i hope i can continue them with you guys :) ( wipes the brown stuff off his nose :P)

just build alot of tanks ....

just build power ..ore..(skip barracks) and then war
then just make no tanks till i had money and went ..lol
it was a 50 50 chance
i would win or lose
cause 1 i didnt know to scout
i just went in blind
and 2 i had no more money after like 6 tanks ..lol

but if they werent ready id win
but if they rockie rushed i was screwed
cause i had no money to make ifv's

those were the days though ...no worries just fun and games

lol im my newb days of ra2 i fav. map in the WHOLE WORLD was lost temple and that other mod "caddys money tress" i think but i would just get like 200 black eagles and own.

P.S. the Acupholdr maps were good newb maps 2 :-p

one time i was playing tourny on RA2 i didnt know it was a mod. I see 20 apocs commin at me in the first 5 minutes im like YOU FUCKING CHEATER. I phone WW and they started laughing lmao

dont let this post die, man it is ammusing me to no end.

I used to think that grizzlies and mirages were the same things except that mirages would sometimes look like trees (thanx for nothing ww manual) so i would never tech cause i didnt see the point.

and once i played a guy that was more of a newb me than me. He tried to rockie rush so i made only ifv's. Well after i killed his rockies i attacked and killed him, so for like the next month after that i thought IFV rushing (empty ifv's btw) was the way to go. I couldnt figure out for the life of me what i was doing wrong, it never worked again lol. I even said to RaZ once when he was over "i have this unbeatable strat u gotta see it" and then i got owned :(

I used to make all prisms, like 30 of them because I thought the long range would own any other tanks ( common sense for a newb ) But when I would lose all 30 to like 5 rhinos I started to rockie rush :(


I used to love lost temple ( only map my brother played ) and would always be korea or france with 10 units. If he made a super I would use my 30-40 BE to kill it and just super my opponent to death lol. I remember a game I had where I made a Spy look like a chrono Legionaire and actually got it into my opponents WF :p




One more thing, when I first started tourny I would play the map happy trails ( the one with that huge Xmas tree and crates near by ). I would memorize where the promotion crates were get 2-3 with my initial starting tanks and kill my opponent with elite grizzlies LOL.




I have alot more but g2g to bed for work :x :x

I started in TS I played forest fires, some color allways got bottom left, which is the ownage spot. I would tech up, get a subterain AFC or whatever it is called, build a Cyber commando 4 engy's and drive it in their base, this worked quite well :o

In Ra2 I started with 1v1 ffg's and made mass harriers ( i allways played vs people that did the same so i thought it was normal) then i started 1 map hacking LBL i took russia with red so i would get bottom and kick any players that refused to play with allies, probably got me to rank500.

I can't believe no one here has posted about Red Alert 1 newb days!

I remember building (literally) lines of pillboxes and turrets with rocket soldiers in the back and tanks behind them for reserves. Then I would do a "pillbox offensive" as it was called then, the modern day cannon walking. It was awesome shite!
Of course, later on I got rushed by 30 medium tanks and I have never been the same since :)

In Ra2, man I used to put 10 GIs in every chokepoint to my base to stop the "evil" AI from getting to my base lmao
It worked agasint AI, but the people kept killing them...trainer? hehe j/k

i thaught i remembered seeing blkpegan or someone saying something like "once a cheater always a cheater" thats why mirail wasnt aloud in --ba--/-ba-2 might just be me but i dunno....maybe stefey made a mistake by putting the words "map hacking" in that post

but now back to the topic....
back when i first started, first game i can remmeber so clearly i was france and my opponent in QM was america and it was on snowballs chance..this guy was poop...but he had para everywhere, and so i kept trying to have my ifv's kill them...but ifv's arent that good vs 8 gi's that are deplyed...eventually he came in and attacked me with like 7 prisms and 2 tanks...i was "HOW YOU MAKE THAT TANK WITH THE ANCHOR ON IT!" then he said "gg" i was like you f you 2 then he said " gg=good game" i was like "my azz it wasnt a good game you made all those lil blue guys and put them behind the tress so i couldnt find them"
then i got a bit used to the game and i started playing petwoodys revenge with my friend, one of us got america the other got france, we clanned/tourney/ffg on that map all the time, in the ffg's he made me a radar, and i made him a radar, so i could make both gc and para, he could do the same...we would take the middle para and make crono legionairs make teh wall dissapear so we could make GC's there, we walled it in, dropped paras on the wall and kill there miners/tech oil's we would take the para's in teh corner's too and make power/barracks to the wall then put GC's on the wall so they couldnt kill them..made some patriot missles lol they got mad as hell...we thaught it was funny lol...ahhh i miss them days playing mod maps and all that...

Kay once told me about someone having alot of "wash games" , I didnt know what i was so I just said something like "yea i saw that too"

IN RA2 I would eb sovs and not know what rushing was and I would Tech up real fast with 2 miners from war no rhinos and straight apocs/desos. But I unholied almost every skirmish I ever did by capturing con yards.
